We collect information directly from you, automatically when you use the service, from another user who sends you an enquiry or message, and from service providers that help us operate Equipper.

If a supplier enters an ABN, we may retrieve public business information from the Australian Business Register. Please only provide another person's information if you are authorised to do so and they would reasonably expect the use described in this policy.

5. What becomes public

Approved supplier profiles and listings are public. This may include the business name, logo, banner, About section, service areas, services, optional public email or phone, website, ABN, reviews, listing details and listing photos.

Open hire requests may show the request title, description, general location, category, timing, budget, hire type and uploaded reference images. We do not intend to publicly display a customer's account email or private messages. Avoid placing private, sensitive or unnecessary personal details in public text or photos.

6. When we share information

When a customer sends an enquiry, we share the submitted contact and job details with the selected supplier. When a supplier responds to a hire request, we share the response and supplier identity with that customer. Messages and attachments are available to conversation participants and authorised administrators where needed for support, safety or moderation.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate suspected fraud or safety risks, to protect legal rights, or as part of a proposed business sale or restructure subject to appropriate confidentiality protections. We do not sell personal information.

7. Service providers

We use service providers to operate Equipper. These currently include Supabase for authentication, database and file storage; Vercel for hosting, performance and web analytics; Resend for transactional and opted-in marketing email; Sentry for error and performance diagnostics when configured; and the Australian Business Register lookup service for public ABN data.

These providers process information for us under their own security, privacy and subprocessor arrangements. We only provide information reasonably needed for the service they perform.

8. Overseas processing

Some service providers or their subprocessors may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Provider locations can change over time. Where Australian privacy law applies, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and protect information disclosed overseas.

9. Cookies, analytics and diagnostics

Equipper uses necessary browser storage and cookies to keep you signed in, protect sessions and remember service settings. We also use privacy-conscious web analytics, speed measurement and error diagnostics to understand page use and fix failures.

Diagnostic tools may collect device details, page addresses, timing and interaction information. We configure these tools to avoid intentionally collecting passwords, payment details or message contents. You can control cookies through your browser, but blocking necessary cookies may prevent login and account features from working.

10. Email and marketing choices

We send essential emails for account verification, password resets, security and important service administration. Signed-in users can control optional message, enquiry, review, job-match and marketing emails in Account Settings.

Marketing is opt-in. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe option, and you can also switch marketing off in Account Settings. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential account or security communications.

11. Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections, password hashing through our authentication provider, database row-level security, private storage controls, monitoring and other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Use a strong unique password, protect your device and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account access. If an eligible data breach occurs, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable notification requirements.

12. Retention and deletion

We retain information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and comply with legal obligations. Backup copies and fraud-prevention records may remain for a limited period after account or content deletion.

You can edit much of your information in Account Settings or your Supplier Profile. You may request account deletion by contacting us. We will explain if we need to retain particular information or if removing public content would affect another user's legitimate records.

13. Access and correction

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within a reasonable period and, if we cannot fulfil a request, will explain why where the law requires.

14. Privacy questions and complaints

Email privacy questions, access requests or complaints to hello@equipper.com.au with enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge and investigate the issue and aim to respond within 30 days.
